PATRONAGE, A LONG-STANDING COMMITMENT OF PEBÉO

16/08/2021

Because Pébéo has bestowed upon itself the mission of facilitating access to artistic practices, its patronage actions are focused on children, to awaken their artistic character, and on artists, to support them in their creative process. Overview of many years of patronage.

WORKSHOPS FOR CHILDREN

Pébéo provides the creative material for many workshops given to children. In 2012 and over 4 years, Pébéo was a patron of the Louvre, engaging in educational modules that were offered there. Pébéo was also a partner of the CNAP (France's National Centre for Plastic Arts), through Monumenta, a contemporary art exhibition held in the nave of the Grand Palais. After the exhibition visit by a mediator, the children were invited to work in the style of the artists: Anselm Kiefer in 2007, Anish Kapoor in 2011, Boltansky in 2010 or Daniel Buren in 2012. For many years, Pébéo has been a partner of La Source (read our article here) and the Culturespaces Foundation (read our article here), whose actions seek to foster social inclusion through art or more generally through culture

PATRONAGE OF ARTISTS

Pébéo fosters contemporary international and local creation through Mécènes du Sud (read our article here). In the Art-o-rama festival, which Pébéo has backed for many years, a Pébéo painting prize will be awarded to one of the artists from the represented galleries in August 2021. More recently, Pébéo is committed to fostering emerging artists from the urban art and graffiti scene, holding an Urban Art Award as part of the 5th international Mixed Media competition. The works created in this edition were exhibited in June 2021 at Fluctuart, a partner of Pébéo which shares its desire to democratise art, offering free exhibitions. Occasionally, the patronage actions reconcile the fostering of artists and operations for children, as in 2006, with Action Against Hunger; artists were invited by Pébéo to decorate plates, which were subsequently sold at auction for the benefit of the association. This year, Focus Festival d'Aix en Provence Pébéo is a partner of the Festival d'Aix en Provence and its Passerelles laboratory which, for the past 10 years, has invited the public every to enjoy an active experience of lyrical art. This year, among other actions, artists explained to children how to create an opera scene and made models together using Pébéo products. A great way to get children up on stage!
