Pébéo is proud of its partnership with Château de Chambord
Contemporary artist Julien des Monstiers has been at Château de Chambord since May 26, representing a significant milestone in his career. Simultaneously, another exhibition titled ‘Dessus Dessous’ is dedicated to him at Suquet des Artistes in Cannes. These two events, designed to complement each other, provide a comprehensive perspective on the work of this talented artist.
Julien des Monstiers splits his time between Faye-la-Vineuse and Paris. After completing his studies at the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Paris in 2008, Julien des Monstiers has garnered several prestigious awards. These include the 2015 Prix Marin, the 2017 Prix Mécènes du Sud and Yishu8 Prize, the 2019 Prix Pierre Cardin, and the 2022 Simone and Cino Del Duca Painting Prize.
Julien des Monstiers’ work resides at the crossroads of fine and applied arts, pushing the limits of painting by delving into depth, surfaces, textures, folds, and fractures. Using Pébéo XL oil paint, Julien des Monstiers crafts artworks that sway between the abstract and the figurative. His work exemplifies that the true essence of art resides not in the subject depicted, but in the manner of its portrayal. The artworks showcased at the Suquet des Artistes eloquently testify to this distinctive artistic approach, emphasizing technique and material over the image itself.
Julien des Monstiers’ exhibitions at Château de Chambord and Suquet des Artistes in Cannes are essential for contemporary art enthusiasts.
